Website Promotion Tips
Having an attractive website for whatever purpose you are planning
to have one, is just the first step towards achieving the purpose.
Unless your website is popular among major search engines, like
Google, Yahoo, MSN, AltaVista etc., your dream of having a successful
online venture will remain a dream. The first obvious question
that comes to mind after launching a website is: How will
the world know about my website? And it’s here that
website promotion becomes indispensable.
Here are some of the tips for promoting your website:
- Submission to Search Engines: Let the major
Search Engines know that you have launched a website so that
they may include your website in their results. Submission
may be manual or through specialized software.
Tip: For
better results, resort to manual submission to search engine
directories.
- Pay Per Click (PPC) Advertising: You can
make an arrangement with other websites and search engines
to display your advertisements prominently on their website
for a price. And if someone clicks the link to your website,
you pay a small sum to those websites for every click.
Tip: Use
PPC Advertising campaign only when you have adequate spare
budget for website promotion.
- Article Directories: Submitting articles
on several free article directories should always be your first
website promotion method. You can write your own articles or
hire a freelancer to write one pertaining to your website features.
Most of these article directories don’t charge anything
for submitting a content, and you get lots of links back to
your website.
Tip: Read
the Authors’ Guidelines
of each Article Directory carefully before submitting the content.
- Link Building: You can also arrange for
reciprocal link building campaign with other websites, where
you put their link and they put your link to the respective
websites.
Tip: Not everyone is open to the
idea of link exchange, so, you need to be patient for generating
adequate links.
- Keyword-rich web content: Your website obviously
contains lots of text. Make sure that you have all the keywords
well placed and adequately included on almost every page of
your website.
Tip: Knowing which keywords
work best for your website could be a cumbersome process; therefore,
you may consider hiring a professional keyword researched for
the job.
