My Hidden Gold Coast – Mt Tamborine Holiday and Gold Coast Boating

What would be your perfect holiday? Lonely Planet will tell you that you can define your holiday in a number of ways. A budget holiday in a backpackers hostel, a luxury pampered holiday in a five star resort, or perhaps a trek with only the clothes on your back, or a motor home tour with your home on the back. Holidays, adventures, travel and tours can vary by budget, adventure level, location, people, time, experience, supplies and the list goes on.

I’m fortunate enough to live on the Gold Coast, one of Australia’s holiday destinations. I have the crystal clear beaches on my doorstep and the luscious rainforests in my back yard. I’ve toured my friends and family to the Gold Coast Theme Parks, atop Q1 – Australia’s Tallest Building, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Sea World. I’ve tasted the best BBQ pork ribs overlooking the greatest beach on earth, a view that will leave you breathless. I have seen a lot of what the Gold Coast can offer, however you haven’t seen anything until you have experience two simple pleasures.

The Castle on Tamborine
Mt Tamborine is one of the Gold Coast’s spectacular secrets. Although a popular travel destination, it is 30 minute drive into the deep green hinterland making it a lesser visited part of the south-east Queensland. The Castle is but a gem in the beauty of this landmark. If you have a free weekend coming up I suggest you take a trip back in time and experience the magnificence and beauty of a medieval castle with all the amenities of contemporary culture. Four posted beds with a steam room and sauna surrounded by luscious manicured lawns. Feel like a king on the Gold Coast at the Castle on Tamborine.

My Boating Shop
Although the beaches that span undisrupted for 70 kilometres along the Gold Coast are absolutely glorious – think sand so fine it feels as soft as the glistening warm waters lapping at your feet – it is the endless canals, rivers, streams and inland waterways that twist and turn throughout the Gold Coast hinterland that the culture of the coast really thrives. If you’re a local take full advantage of the Gold Coast and visit My Boating Shop for all the latest news, tips and advice on new and used boats and supplies. If you’re visiting the area, My Boating Shop is Australia’s largest online boating directory and can give honest advice on the best places to hire boats, fishing equipment, kayaks and canoes as well as chartered fishing trips.

Perhaps you can holiday at home as I do. Learn to love the area you live in and make the most of it. The Castle and My Boating Shop is just a couple of opportunities to explore the Gold Coast a little bit differently. What are you waiting for? Get out there ….
